First of all, Merry Christmas! I became too busy with the holiday craze that I wasn't able to blog for the past few days. Hope you guys had a wonderful and meaningful Christmas celebration. I can't believe 2013's going to end in 3 days! Ahhh!
Anyway (quick topic change here), Last December 8, my cousin got married. I know weddings give you fuzzy feelings whether it's good or bad but this isn't something cheesy for you to be either really happy or really sad so no worries. If you remembered my post about making a wedding cord, this was the wedding for it. There were wedding and reception details that I really liked so this list is probably for those looking for themes, ideas and of course inspiration. :)
Winter Trees
We usually see white roses at the aisle on weddings and personally, I like stargazers but I really loved what they picked to accentuate the church. These are don with orchids by the way. The tree itself I'm not sure but it seems to be painted in white and hanged with ribbons.I didn't have a great shot for this, too lazy to run around in heels but here's two shots that I was able to take. It reminds me a bit of the wedding in "It Takes a Man and a Woman" movie of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQ-99SDPd7Y).
Wedding Gown
My cousin's wedding gown was not a conventional white. White is okay but I was never a fan of it as it makes my skin look dull and ashy. Off white or nude (same as the pictures below) to me looks great. Check out the front and back details. You can also see the winter trees here.
Though I'm a fan of non-convetional dress colors that are still neutral and not loud, I'm not really into non-conventional hem cuts. An example would be Precious Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz's gown. (Below picture credit remains to the rightful owner, this was searched through Google)
Lanterns
They're everywhere in the church aisle and reception venue. I love them in vintage and modern styles. My love for vintage design is quite extreme so if I'm gonna have my own place in the future and design in on my own, I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull it off.
Flowers
I love most particularly the ones used as centerpieces in the reception tables. They're really pretty especially the ones that are off white but with a tinge of pink. Stargazers are still on top of my list though.
Doily Mats
Realllyyy loved this detail. I used to think that doilies are usually used as garlands. This one was used to identify which seat is assigned to you after knowing your table number. I loved that they used doily and calligraphy under a glass plate. The artsy fartsy person in me jumped a bit when I saw this. Too bad I forgot to keep it as souvenir :p
Hope this post gave you ideas for your own wedding!P.S. I made a pinky promise with a friend that I'll be doing crafty items when she weds! No dates yet though but I'm quite excited for it.
