DIY Budget Christmas Gifts

Running out of ideas on what to give your loved ones this Christmas while on a tight budget? You have exactly 5 days to go! DIY is the best and most personal gift you could ever give someone so check out the items I've made below. An idea may spark up from these :)

Hand painted shot glass
Materials: Shot glass (8php from the grocery store) | Glass paint (~75php from National Bookstore) | Brush (~20 from National Bookstore)

Photo taken by Jeff (Instagram: @jldquiambao). Forgot to take pictures of the finished product! #BadBlogger
This one's very easy. You can experiment with different types of glasses like wine glass or the usual drinking glass. Just make sure to follow the instructions in the glass paint if it needs a quick oven heat. This also make lovely house decors to brighten up your pantry.

Crochet Head Band or Bonnet

Materials: Bonnet (Needs at least 6 45 meters of yarn roll 4 ply which is about 14php each. I bought mine from Carolina's. I also have a stash of Red Heart super saver, 350php from Gantsilyo Guru which can make about 3 to 4 bonnets) / Head Band (Needs at least 2 45 meters of yarn) | Tapestry Needle (18php for three sizes I bought from Gantsilyo Guru Selections) | Scissors

If you're a crochet geek like I am nowadays (my friends, family and my boyfriend knows this), you can create custom crochet stuff by looking up patters from the internet. I made two bonnets and two head bands with huge ribbons for my girlfriends. The rolled purple crochet in the picture if the headband. #BadBlogger. Photo by Anj (Instagram: @merylnuggets).

Wire Bracelets
Materials: Wire (Gauge 18 or 17 if I remember correctly. Bought mine at Wellmanson's Quiapo for about 200php I think. Makes A LOT.) | Flat Pliers with ridges or without but with a cutter and Round Nose Pliers (Bought mine from Quiapo to but you can check your local hardware store. P.S. You'll need your pliers more for intricate design. Most of the time I used my bare hands #MachoWoman)

Way back highschool, name jewelry has a total hit especially for rings. Until now they are still around so I decided to make a customized one. If you're following my Instagram, I've done photography with these wires and as the Christmas season came about, I thought of making gifts through wires to my friends.

Of course don't forget to make DIY Christmas cards that goes with your DIY gifts! Happy crafting! :)
