I'm trying to do at least one project per week to be able to get my creative juices running again. I was catching up with my papercutting so here's what I've came up with.
Papercutting design can really be a chore so I usually do song lyrics. I've been so stuck with this song mainly because my sister keeps playing the Counting Stars version of Christina Grimmie and Sam Behymer from the voice.
Haven't been to the beach yet and I'm so missing out this summer because of cancelled trips. I've been wanting to take a photo of a really orange sunset. Ironically, I made this papercut early in the morning. That's a computer sample picture default by Windows and I've just realized how good papercuts look like as a picture overlay. Framed works should be coming soon: photograpy + papercut.
Since I've been doing a lot of words for papercut, I decided to challenge myself more. This project has been a real challenge from the design (which was inspired by a lot of google image searches) to the cutting detail. I lost two blades on this. Next time hopefully I'll be able to create a more original design.
Practice really makes perfect but the tools play a big part too! I just lost my last sharp blade from the last project, need to stock more soon.By the way, I used laser paper of 100gsm instead of the usual 90 and I think my cutting's better because of that. How are you faring with your papercutting skills lately?
