Super Typhoon Haiyan

From GMANetwork.com:
The Philippines appears on the verge of being engulfed by Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in this composite image taken by the geostationary satellites of the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) on November 7, 9:00 p.m. PHL time. This is all over the news and every time I see people interviewed, video coverage during the storm, it really breaks my heart. A lot have already suffered from the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last month and now we have the super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). The storm did landfalls 6 times in 4 provinces where winds were described to be something like being inside a washing machine and created huge waves as storm surges. Death toll is slowly increasing, bodies found some washed at sea and others on the streets. A lot were injured and missing: children, adults, pregnant women, elders.

I really admire the courage and dedication of the news teams from different networks, braving the storm and providing coverage and the actual status of the places where the storm passed to relay to the rescue teams and the rest of the Filipino people.

In our very own way, we can help those who were hit by a storm.
And as a lot of people say, this too shall pass. We always rise up from every calamity that we go through but aside from that, may it not be just another experience that we will relive when something similar happens again. May it be a learning that we should always be ready in times like this. #PrayForThePhilippines
