Been using the washi tapes for a few times in decorating and before I bought, I already had this project in mind :)
I had this box ever since college and I used to put some change here to be able to easily get one when my wallet ran out. As you can see, it's already worn out with some nicks and peels but I decided to not do a retouch as it gives much character to it (chos!).
I still put change there, unfortunately, it doesn't have much anymore. I tried counting them and grouping them according to denomination. Turns out I only have less that 200 pesos in it, bankrupt!
So I stopped moping about it and decided to work on the project prettify. Coin boxes need not be boring!
I had my trusty scissors to cut the washi and a paint marker in gold for some accents. I think actual acrylic paint would look good on it but this is what I had in stock. This brand is Uni and I bought it from National Bookstore for about 100 pesos. I also have this in silver.
And here's a mandatory "artistic" semi open box shot.
Now I think the only thing that's missing would be a sealant or coating some kind of like a gloss. Not sure what to use here yet but if you have suggestions feel free to recommend! :)
P.S.
My washi tape ends on the corners of the box. I recommend to not cut it there because they tend to get themselves unstuck. As a remedy, I just smeared some white glue on it.
