I'm beginning to really appreciating mornings because it gives me the opportunity to work on the ideas thought of the night before and one of them was prettifying my notebook with washi tapes. I already did a first notebook prettify blogpost here so not I've decided to try a different route: washi letter collage.
Materials: Washi Tapes (I got mine from Hey Kessy and Bee Happy) | Scissors | Magazine page, the glossy and smooth kind | Paper | Notebook (from Muji)
Last December, I received this Muji notebook as a gift (thanks Kei! :D) along with two green inked Muji pens and decided that I would use this as my craft journal for future ideas. To make it really obvious, I wanted the word "CRAFT" printed on the front but used washi tapes to sprinkle it a bit of color. You can totally use a different word, design your own font and draw directly in the magazine but I opted to print bold letters as my drawing and writing skills are currently rusty.
After you've decided on your word and font, washi away! Just make sure to leave a non washi-ed strip at the top. This will help you peel your tapes easily. Once you're done, you can coat this with Mod Podge matte, Elmer's glue would work too as washi tapes have a tendency to lift on the edges. It's optional but I recommend it because I realized it too late but was able to mend it.
And now it's time to cut. Left some strips at the top to aid in peeling the tapes. P.S. Spelling skills are also rusty.
Peel the tapes and stick them in your notebook and you're done!
Very easy! Though the peeling could take away a bit of your patience but of course everything's manageable in crafting. :p Oh, and I apologize for the heavily edited pictures as these are from my mobile phone, my camera charger is MIA at the moment thus I cannot use it to take pictures.
Hope you have a great Sunday ahead! :)
