I got this cutesy canvas shoe bag for Christmas from a good friend of mine Chie. It was bare in color and I remembered that I have textile paint in my stash and decided to go for this colorful run.
Materials: Paint brushes | Textile Paint | Newspaper
I placed the newspaper inside of the bag to prevent from color bleeding on the other side. I picked out the colors (which aren't that many) and did orange with a mix of red and yellow. Of course we all know that from grade school but it feels like I've saved something by DIY-ing it. Yes? Yes. #legitcrafter #lol
I wanted to write on it so I wrote bag, lol. I wanted to do the same thing the word riot was written all over Paramore's album cover of Riot! but I didn't. Maybe next time when I have better brushes and better hand control. Would love to work with watercolor next.
TIP for beginners (which I was): If you're working on a canvas bag like this, do not use a super wet brush (with either paint or water) cause it bleeds easily especially if you're working with drawn borders like I did. If you're not, they you're free to color bleed as you would like!
Isn't it amazing what a little bit of color can do to liven up your day? Happy crafting. :)
